November Faves

I’m a few days late with this post, but I’m back with my November faves! Now that it’s officially freezing out, I’ve added in some of my faves for the colder months. Here are my recommendations and November favorites!

Beauty

Bondi Sands Tanning Foam Ultra DarkBondi Sands Tanning Foam Ultra Dark– I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll mention it again. This is by far the best tanning product I have ever used! It is the perfect shade and streak free. It’s perfect for the winter when you need a little color!

Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil– I haven’t experimented enough with coconut oil to know if one brand is better than another, but I do know this stuff is great. Coconut oil has a variety of different health benefits and can be used for many different purposes. Personally, I love using this once a week to deep condition my hair. My hair gets quite dry and brittle and this really livens it up!

PYT Ceramic Styling Tool– After going through countless amounts of straightening irons, I decided to invest in a good one. I’ve had this straightening iron for about 3 or 4 years now and it hasn’t let me down. It takes about 10 minutes with this iron to make my waves sleek and straight

Grace Antioxidant Organic Facial Toner– I wanted to bring my skin care routine up a notch and decided to buy this product because I heard an antioxidant toner is great for your skin. Although I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my skin, I do find the spray very refreshing and it also works as a nice setting spray! I have been having issues with dry skin and while it does not help much, it is temporarily relieving. Not to mention it’s organic and not to harsh on the skin, plus a reasonable price!

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara– This mascara is a fave of mine and beats any high end mascara I’ve ever used. This mascara really lengthens  your lashes and overall is a must have considering its price.

Fashion

Hoodies– Hoodies are a staple when the weather begins to get colder. I’ve been obsessed with buying hoodies lately because they’re so comfortable and cute and come in so many styles and cuts. I linked one of my favorite new hoodies I bought recently from Lulu’s.

Jeans– Like hoodies, jeans are a staple. They help polish any outfit. Jeans with a cute sweater is a perfect look for when the weather is cold. It’s comfortable, but still cute. And just like hoodies, jeans come in various styles. Colored jeans, boyfriend jeans, ripped jeans, etc can all bring a complete different look. Jeans are so versatile and a closet staple. My favorite place to buy jeans is PacSun.

Workout leggings– As someone who goes from the gym, to class, cute workout leggings are a must. Victoria’s Secret and Nike have some of my favorite athletic leggings, but you can also find cute workout leggings for less at stores like Forever 21.

Riding boots– Riding boots are another step in my winter closet. I wear riding boots constantly. Invest in one black pair and nice brown pair and you’re set for all outfits! Charlotte Russe is a great place to buy shoes.

Booties– Booties are cute and look great with any outfit. I like to switch out my riding boots sometimes for my booties just because they add a different look.

Rings– I love accessorizing with funky rings. I think they just add a more stylish element to a simple outfit and overall just look super cute!

Entertainment

David Dobrik– I’ve been really into watching David Dobrik’s vlogs lately. They’re just so entertaining and honestly slightly addicting. They make me wish I had a friend group that exciting!

Animal’s People– I recently read the book Animal’s People for a class I take in school, and this was one of the few books I’ve ever read for a class that I actually enjoyed. It was a fun read and really eye-opening. I highly recommend it.

Shameless– I’ve been hooked on Shameless since I started watching my freshman year of high school. The new season has begun and I couldn’t be happier. Shameless is on Netflix now so if you haven’t watched it yet, there is no excuse.

October Faves

I’m a little bit late on this post, but never late than never right? I love sharing my monthly favorites with you and wanted to make a quick post about some of the things I’ve been really loving lately and especially through the month of October. Here are my October favorites!

Beauty

RCMA No-Color Powder- This is definitely the best powder I’ve used for baking so far. It leaves your skin flawless and doesn’t leave terrible flashback!

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer– I posted about this concealer last month, but it’s become a holy grail product for me so I have to post again. Previously I was using Bye Bye Under Eye from It Cosmetics, but this one has much better coverage and is so much easier to apply! It’s a little pricey, but I have tried every concealer out there and have yet to find one that measures up.

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup– This is one of my go-to foundations when I want a more flawless look. It is very build able coverage and is also very affordable. It is one of my favorites.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam Ultra Dark–  The color of this mousse is the perfect brown. It doesn’t smell putrid and it is the first self tanner I’ve ever found that doesn’t leave streaks. This tanning mousse has become a holy grail for me. Since I’m talking about all of these holy grail products, maybe I should make a post listing all of my holy grail products?

Fashion

Over the knee boots– It’s starting to get chilly out, but I still like wearing dresses and skirts. I’ve been really into pairing some tall boots with my dressier looks. I think it looks adorable, and keeps my legs warm.

Platform sandals- I ordered these sandals over the summer and am still wearing them during this weather transition. I love these shoes because the platforms add so much height, but are still so comfortable and easy to walk in.

Cropped sweaters– Cropped sweaters have been a staple for me for years now. They’re warm and comfortable, but also so cute and versatile.

Entertainment

The Road– I am an English major and read lots of books. Most of them are pretty dry, but every one in awhile I’ll come across a great and inspiring novel like The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It’s an extremely dark book that is about the journey of a father and son after the apocalypse. It’s an easy read and is interesting no doubt. I have yet to watch the movie, but it’s on Netflix so I will definitely be doing that soon.

Food

Tea & honey– I always get sick when I go back to school, so tea and honey is pretty much a must for me. My favorites are green tea and chamomile, which also consist of many health benefits.

Special K Double Chocolate Protein Meal Bars– These are a must for me on mornings I’m running late and need to grab a quick breakfast. Plus, I’m a chocolate lover so that makes these even better.

If you got one thing out of this post, I hope it was to try the Special K Protein Meal Bars. Hope you had a great October and halloween! Only a few weeks left till Thanksgiving 🙂

Halloween Looks

Halloween is over and I’m so sad, but I still wanted to share my costumes! Halloween is my favorite holiday because I love getting dressed up in crazy costumes. Here is what I wore this weekend.

Night One: Murder Scene

I took inspiration from this video.

Night Two: Zombie Bride & Groom

IMG_9173.JPG

I made a previous post how to make this costume here.

IMG_9182.JPG

I used Jerome Russell B Wild Color Spray to spray my hair pink. Warning: it’s messy and will stay in your hair for days. Especially if you’re blonde.

Night Four: Spider

IMG_9229.JPG

Icing sells a ton of different face stickers perfect for costumes. They’re cheap and these lasted all night!

Halloween may be over, but hopefully this post gave you some inspiration for next year. Which costume was your favorite?

September Faves

I’m so excited that October is here because it might just be my favorite month in the year. Sweater weather and halloween makes for a perfect combination. September was a pretty exciting month because I started a new school year and all of my new classes. The year has been a bit stressful so far, but I’m hoping the next eight months lighten up a bit.

Here are my September faves!

Beauty:

Tarte Tape Shape Concealer– One of my new favorite concealers has got to be the Tape Shape. It’s full coverage, but also so easy to apply without any mess.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector– I’ve recently been really into color correcting and this one has to be my favorite. It is perfect to add before my concealer because it brightens up the under eye so much.

Ben Nye Pink Powder– I love using the pink powder to bake under my eyes. It makes my under eyes feel so smooth and it keeps my concealer in place all day!

NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette– This has been my go to palette for contouring. There is a variety of bronze shades plus a banana powder that is perfect for setting the under eyes!

Fashion

Body suits and high waisted shorts– Now that I’m back in college, I’ve been going out a lot more. The weather was still pretty hot this month so my go-to going out look had to be a body suit tucked into high waisted shorts.

Sandals– Cute and comfortable sandals are perfect for warm weather and look cute with any outfit.

Chunky rings– I love accessorizing with chunky rings. I think it honestly takes a simple everyday look into something a bit edgier.

Entertainment

The Naked and the Famous– I’ve been loving listening to Naked and the Famous while I’m at the gym. The songs are just so upbeat and fun and get me in such a good mood!

GroupMe– GroupMe is a must have app for college students. It’s the perfect app for group chats in case anyone doesn’t have an iPhone. I honestly probably use GroupMe more than I actually text.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle– I just recently saw Kingsman and I loved it! I was obsessed with the first one so of course I had to see the second. Eggsy is just so stinkin’ cute. The only thing is he belonged with Roxy! Did anyone else feel like this too? I don’t want to post any spoilers, but let me know if you’d like me to leave a review 🙂

Food

Mixed berries– I’ve been eating mixed berries every morning as a little side breakfast dish to make sure I am getting my daily intake of fruit. I’ve been loving mixing raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries!

Breakfast sandwiches– I love breakfast sandwiches. I toast a bagel every morning, usually either an everything bagel or a poppyseed bagel, and I add a scrambled egg and bacon and a little bit of cream cheese. It’s my fave.

How I Style Bold Pants/ OOTD

A while ago I asked you guys a question; how would you style these pants? IMG_1964

I have finally put together a way to style these very bold harem pants.

Here’s how I styled them:

IMG_3493

These sparkly pants which are from the Jennifer Lopez collection sold at Kohls I found a bit challenging to style, despite the pants being a neutral shade. The pants are already a statement piece on their own that it’s best to keep the rest of the look neutral. I thought red paired nice with the black and the gold, andI decided to wear just a red, tight came since the pants have a looser shape. I found for shoes that the best option is to just wear sandals. Open-toed shoes, in my opinion, work best with the shape of the pants. I opted towards gold sandals to compliment the detailing in the pants.

IMG_3488

I did not add accessories, but I think layered gold necklaces would pair perfectly, along with a set of gold rings or earrings.

This outfit is very glitzy and glam and is perfect for a night out. I think the sandals substituted for a pair of black or gold open-toed heels would be a perfect outfit for a night in the city.

5 Favorite Sundresses

One of my favorite topics to write about is my favorites. Just last week I wrote my monthly favorites, and now I want to show some of my clothing favorites. I’ve always been super girly at heart and I love to wear skirts and dresses. I wrote about my 5 favorite skirts (that deff needs an update) and now I want to write about 5 dresses I wear constantly. Here are 5 of my favorite dresses that are a must have in my closet.

1. Charlotte Russe Belted Sundress

IMG_3333

I love this dress because I can wear it in the spring with a pair of sandals or in the fall with a sweater and boots. It fits any season! (shoutout Sadie)

2.  H&M Maroon Skater DressIMG_3471

Probably my all-time favorite dress is this maroon skater dress. The skater fit is so flattering on almost all body times, and maroon is such a gorgeous color. This is my go-to dress for whenever I want to look nice.

3. Hollister Denim SundressIMG_3432

Unfortunately, this dress has shrunk in the wash and has hit its expiration date. I’m sad because the dress had a very flattering fit, similar to one of a skater dress with a tight top and loose bottom. Plus, this dress combines all of my favorite colors- pink, purple, & blue!

4. Joyce Leslie Floral SundressIMG_3409Everyone needs a basic floral sundress in their closet. It’s a must have for all you girly-girls out there.

5. Forever 21 Striped Bodycon DressIMG_3390

I love my bodycon dress because I can wear it on a night out with some heels and earrings, or I can wear it casually to class with some flip flops and a side braid. It’s such a versatile piece.

I added dresses that I wear all the time and that are all very different from each other. For me, 5 dresses cover a wide variety of occasions and ultimately, are a must have in my closet. Cute dresses can be found at almost any clothing store, but I tried to list more affordable ones. Leave a comment telling me your fave dress!

August Faves

Fall is in the air and I’m already missing wearing bikinis and flip flops. I’m all settled at school and ready for my final year. This summer was very productive, and overall I’d say enjoyable. I worked hard and made some new friends, and I’m so sad my final summer is over. I wanted to list some of my final summer faves that I’ve been loving this last month, so here they are!

Beauty

L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black– I have been using this mascara for the entire summer and I have to say I love it. L’oreal makes great mascara’s, but this one is definitely one of the best. I usually layer it on top of other mascaras to add length, but this mascara adds crazy amounts of volume.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder– This powder has been a holy grail product for me. I’ve literally been using it for two years now and I’m not sure if I’ll ever stop. This powder mattifies oily skin, especially in the summer, and isn’t cakey whatsoever. I have combination skin with an oily t zone, but I have issues with dryness under my eyes and I find this powder really locks in my concealer without causing any patches. I use the shade Transparent.

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup– Another holy grail product is my Revlon Photofinish Foundation because I think it’s perfect for special occasions. I prefer wearing a light foundation or a BB cream on a regular basis, but I wear my PhotoReady when I want to dress up a little bit nicer. It’s full coverage, but still so lightweight on the face.

EOS Balm– This lip balm is definitely a staple. I keep it in my purse with me at all times to reapply and it really does soften my lips. Plus it’s so cute and smells so good!

Fashion

Keyhole bralettes– I have been wearing keyhole blares constantly. I think they’re super comfortable and loose and can be worn for almost all occasions. You can dress them up for a night out, or wear one casually to the beach.

Cami & high waisted shorts– This has been my go-to summer outfit. Days when I’m lazy and don’t feel like putting together something to wear, I throw on a cami and high waisted shorts and I instantly look cute and put together.

IMG_3510.jpg

Entertainment

Miley Cyrus– Miley Cyrus has been killing it and I’ve been loving all of her new songs. Younger Now and Malibu have been on repeat.

Duolingo– I think this app is great for brushing up on a language or even just learning the basics. It’s great to get started if you’re interested in exploring different languages.

Food

Parfaits– One of my favorite treats is a fruit and yogurt parfait. I love having Greek yogurt with some berries and adding granola and cashews.

Happy fall everyone!

Back to School Outfits for Lazy Days

The best part of going back to school is the shopping! New year means newer, trendier clothes! I decided to put together a few simple and comfortable outfits to replace those days you cannot be bothered to get dressed and opt for your laziest hoodie and sweatpants (we all do it, no shame). These looks can be thrown on in the morning without a fuss, but will still look stylish and put together. Here are 3 back to school outfits that are (hopefully) dress code appropriate!

  1. Simple Tee & JeansIMG_3205For the first outfit, I wanted to keep it simple and comfortable with a pair of jeans and a tee shirt. These jeans are my favorite mid-rise jeans from PacSun, and the tee shirt represents my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha! Obviously you can wear your favorite tee shirt, but I personally love this one because of the cute v-neck and because I love black and white. I also decided to give my eyes a break from contacts and wear my glasses which I think really add to the casual/hipster vibe. My glasses are prescription with frames from Versace. To finish off the look, I added a pair of white Converse and accessorized with a few rings to make the look a bit edgier.
  2. Loose & GirlyIMG_3178My next look I decided to wear something a little bit dressier, while still remaining casual and comfortable. This dress is perfect for back to school because it is a good length and also has sleeves so you do not have to wear a sweater on top on days it is too hot. Not to mention the fabric is so soft and loose that make it the most comfortable dress ever. This dress if from Forever 21 and I kept the look simple by adding a pair of sandals from Rue 21 and a little dainty necklace.
  3. Pop of ColorIMG_3234.jpgThis last outfit I tried to keep simple, but wanted to spice the look up a little bit with a pair of colored jeans. I am wearing a gray tank, but of course if your school doesn’t allow tank tops you can trade this for a tee shirt or any cute neutral colored top you own. My green skinny jeans are from PacSun, and I am wearing a pair of flip flops from Old Navy. To add to this look, I also wore some layered necklaces from Forever 21.IMG_3243.JPG

Back to school shopping is so fun, but waking up in the morning is so not. Hopefully you found some inspiration for those days you just cannot be bothered to get out of bed. Enjoy your school year!
