October Faves

I’m a little bit late on this post, but never late than never right? I love sharing my monthly favorites with you and wanted to make a quick post about some of the things I’ve been really loving lately and especially through the month of October. Here are my October favorites!

RCMA No-Color Powder- This is definitely the best powder I’ve used for baking so far. It leaves your skin flawless and doesn’t leave terrible flashback!

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer– I posted about this concealer last month, but it’s become a holy grail product for me so I have to post again. Previously I was using Bye Bye Under Eye from It Cosmetics, but this one has much better coverage and is so much easier to apply! It’s a little pricey, but I have tried every concealer out there and have yet to find one that measures up.

Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup– This is one of my go-to foundations when I want a more flawless look. It is very build able coverage and is also very affordable. It is one of my favorites.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam Ultra Dark–  The color of this mousse is the perfect brown. It doesn’t smell putrid and it is the first self tanner I’ve ever found that doesn’t leave streaks. This tanning mousse has become a holy grail for me. Since I’m talking about all of these holy grail products, maybe I should make a post listing all of my holy grail products?

Over the knee boots– It’s starting to get chilly out, but I still like wearing dresses and skirts. I’ve been really into pairing some tall boots with my dressier looks. I think it looks adorable, and keeps my legs warm.

Platform sandals- I ordered these sandals over the summer and am still wearing them during this weather transition. I love these shoes because the platforms add so much height, but are still so comfortable and easy to walk in.

Cropped sweaters– Cropped sweaters have been a staple for me for years now. They’re warm and comfortable, but also so cute and versatile.

The Road– I am an English major and read lots of books. Most of them are pretty dry, but every one in awhile I’ll come across a great and inspiring novel like The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It’s an extremely dark book that is about the journey of a father and son after the apocalypse. It’s an easy read and is interesting no doubt. I have yet to watch the movie, but it’s on Netflix so I will definitely be doing that soon.

Tea & honey– I always get sick when I go back to school, so tea and honey is pretty much a must for me. My favorites are green tea and chamomile, which also consist of many health benefits.

Special K Double Chocolate Protein Meal Bars– These are a must for me on mornings I’m running late and need to grab a quick breakfast. Plus, I’m a chocolate lover so that makes these even better.

If you got one thing out of this post, I hope it was to try the Special K Protein Meal Bars. Hope you had a great October and halloween! Only a few weeks left till Thanksgiving 🙂

May Favorites

May is over and summer has officially begun! I’m excited to discuss my favorites for this month with all of you because I’ve got a lot. Also, I linked all of the products if you are interested in checking any of these out!

  1. Hawaiian Topic Dark Tanning Oil– okay, I know a lot of people flip when I say I like to use tanning oil, but I think tanning oil is great when used safely. At the start of summer, I love to use a bit of tanning oil on my body and soak in the sun for about an hour or two just to start my summer tan. This tanning oil is great because I darken so fast without burning and get that summer tan in no time without spending an excessive amount of time outside baking my skin. It’s perfect to use at the start of summer.
  2. Sephora Pearl Face Mask– this face mask is great for brightening the skin. I love using the Sephora face masks in general because they aren’t too expensive and are perfect for a little spa day. They make my skin feel much cleaner and fresh.
  3. Smith’s Rosebud Salve– I talked about this in my last favorites post and I will keep talking about it because it is 100% my holy grail of lip moisturizers. My lips get so dry and I swear this is the only product that helps. Not to mention one little jar lasts a lifetime.
  4. Mally Face Defender BB Cream Foundation– I’ve been loving this BB cream because it’s so light and perfect for summer. It also is great for my acne prone skin and doesn’t clog my pores. I currently wear the color medium light, but will probably go up a shade as I get tanner.
  5. Mally Poreless Perfecion Glowing Foundation– I use this product on top of my BB cream and together makes the perfect result. This powder alone is not quite enough coverage for me, but it really ratifies my face without looking cake-y. I find it to be the perfect powder for sealing in my foundation and eliminating an oily T-zone. I wear this in light.
  6. Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer (Tiki)– I use this bronzer in the shade Tiki and it works as the perfect highlight for summer. Since it’s actually a bronzer, the shade is perfect to highlight my summer glow. It’s dark to add a bit of color, but is so illuminating that it really brightens my face. It’s also great to use as a bronze eyeshadow. Overall, it’s a very versatile product that can be used on a wide range of complexions.
  7. IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Palette– This palette has been perfect for adding color to my face. Honestly, I haven’t really used the powder since I’m so obsessed with my one by Mally, but I love the bronzer and the blush. The bronzer is the perfect dark shade to contour and the blush is bright and natural looking and adds the perfect flush of color. The palette is a bit pricey, but worth it.

  1. Tee Shirts– As boring as this sounds, I’ve been enjoying wearing just plain old oversized tee shirts lately. I really like to be comfortable, especially when it’s so hot and sweaty out. Still, I think big tee shirts are extremely cute paired with some cute sneakers and high waisted shorts. Cute, casual, and comfortable. (BTW I linked a cute one for you to check out!) IMG_2803.JPG
  2. Twist-Front Crop Top– This has been one of my favorite pieces to wear lately because it is such a cute little top, and so versatile! I wear it with jeans and sneakers, or I’ll pair it with some high waisted shorts and sandals. I also love to dress it up a little by pairing it with my corduroy skirt and a denim jacket. IMG_2895.JPG
  3. Bralettes Bralettes are the best for summer because they aren’t as restricting as a regular bra and go perfect under cutoff tanks and backless tops. I might be biased since I used to work there, but my favorite place to buy bralettes is definitely Aerie. IMG_2904.JPG
  4. Sneakers– I love wearing sneakers when it’s still a bit breezy out. I also find them way more comfortable for walking on the boardwalk than flip flops because there is no toe chafing! I particularly love my Adidas, Converse, and Vans even though they’ve all gotten super run down because I wear them so often!IMG_2907.JPG
  5. Open Cardigans and Tanks– Since it’s still a little chilly some days, I like to wear loose sweaters and cardigans on top of my tank tops. Layering is perfect when the weather is still constantly fluctuating.IMG_2733.JPG

  1. Big Little Lies– I just started watching this show so I’m not very far in, but I’m already hooked. Also, I want to note how awesome this cast is. I definitely recommend.
  2. 13 Reasons Why Who isn’t talking about this show?? I wanted to see what all of the hype was about so I decided to check it out. I’m definitely not as obsessed with the show as some people are and I do think the show has its flaws, but it’s still an intriguing show. Plus, Clay Jenson is the cutest creature to ever walk the earth.
  3. Invisible Monsters– I started reading this before and got sidetracked with school and never was able to finish, so i started again. I was obsessed with this book from the start. Chuck Palahniuk never disappoints.
  4. Empire of the Sun– I just discussed this band in my last post because I was lucky enough to see them live, but I decided they were worth mentioning again. Swordfish Hotkiss Night is the ultimate jam.
  5. The Killers– I’m so excited because I get to see one of my favorite bands perform in a few weeks!! I’m so excited that I’ve been nonstop blasting the Killers ever since I bought the tickets (aka like 3 months ago).
  6. Poshmark– One of my favorite apps, Postmark allows me to sell clothes I no longer wear and buy clothes from others for affordable prices. I use Postmark constantly and find it a great way to earn some extra spending money. Check out my closet!
  7. Duolingo– I really want to brush up on my Italian and this app lets me practice and overall is really effective. Not to mention, it’s free!
  8. MyFitnessPal– I’ve been really trying to eat healthier and this app is one I always go back to. I’m able to keep track of what I eat and check my calories. It also breaks down the nutrition so I can see how much protein, carbs, etc. that I’ve consumed. This app also allows you to set goals. For example, you’re goal might be to lose .5 pounds each week. The app tells you how many calories and such you should consume to achieve this goal.
  9. That Poppy– I’ve been really addicted to Poppy lately and I can’t tell if I like it or not. Her music is awesome no doubt, Lowlife is a great song for the summer. Her channel; however, is a bit strange, yet I can’t stop watching?? Her vids are definitely a bit odd and I wish she were to give a meaning for it all, but I’m definitely hooked and can’t stop watching.
  10. Sarah Baska– I discovered Sarah last summer and I’ve loved her ever since. I’ve been catching up on her videos lately now that classes are done for the summer and I can’t stop watching. She’s absolutely hilarious and her videos never fail to make me laugh.

  1. DIY Trail Mix– Lately, I’ve been snacking on trail mix that I create myself with whatever I have in the house. I try to keep it as healthy as possible by mixing together some cashews, dried cranberries, dark chocolate, and pretzels. It makes the perfect snack to munch on.
  2. Bananas and Peanut Butter– Bananas and peanut butter are a perfect combination and a great snack. I love eating this if I want a quick snack before bed or sometimes even for breakfast. I also like making peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch because basically I’m obsessed with this combination. 10/10 would recommend.

Hope you all enjoyed your month of May and found something in this article worth checking out! Everything is linked!

Inside My Room

Since I’m away at college, my room at home is the cleanest it’s ever been, so basically I decided to post some pics of my room and give you all a little virtual tour. It’s pretty funny because my bedroom at home is sooooo different from my dorm room. My room at home is so bright and decorated while my dorm is mostly just black with lots of pictures of me and my friends. My room has been decorated like this for awhile, and while although I definitely prefer darker colors, I really really love and miss the brightness of my bedroom.

So here it is

Okay yeah I told you, very bright. I have my pillow pets and my sparkly sequined throw pillow because I was like 14 when I decorated my room. But I mean I like it, I think it adds character. But I will admit, this comforter is very thin so I almost never actually use it and my bed is almost never actually made. Sorry this picture is pretty deceiving.

Next to my bed I have a ton of wall space that I just went in on decorating when I was bored one day. So in the corner I have a few pictures and my prom tickets. Then I have a little portrait of the eiffel tower. Then there are a few canvas’s and my “you look gorgeous” stickers which were so difficult to put up. I also made a dream board back when I was in like 7th grade, but it definitely needs some updating because currently on it are all pictures of One Direction and the cast of Glee and I don’t really know where I was going with it, so that’ll definitely be a summer mission. I also hung up my favorite birthday card ever- it was hand drawn and it’s so pretty, and then I hang up pretty pictures and quotes in my magazines every month that either just look pretty or inspire me in some way.

IMG_3910Here is the other half of my wall because this wall is huge.  (peep the One Direction cups)

And yeah this is my dresser. It has a nice, vintage-y kind of feel which I’ve always been a fan of. In here I keep some hoodies, tee shirts, tank tops, jeans, and shorts. Oh and that little dress hanging belongs to my dog.

My closet is always super messy, but here is just wear I keep some tee shirts and jackets. A lot of my clothes are of folded in my dresser, but since my closet is really small I actually have another room which acts pretty much as a huge closet. That’s where I keep my shoes, purses, jewelry, and all of my nicer clothes. I’d give you a tour of that but since I’m away at college, it has unfortunately become a storage room for everyone which is kind of annoying because now all of my clothes are lost behind everyone else’s stuff. Hopefully at some point I’ll be able to give you all a tour of my giant Hannah Montana closet.

My bureau- I keep more clothes and stuff in here. Just underwear and pajamas and bathing suits and stuff. Nothing too fancy. I also keep stuff stored in VS bags. I don’t really know why they just look pretty. Also, check out the graduation cap. A nice little collage of me and my friends.

I talk about this all the time, but I love, love, love books. I have so many that I’m running out of room on my shelves. But yeah my desk is kind of cool because it’s a nice corner desk with shelves on the bottom. I have all the books from the Clique series back from when I was in the 7th grade and that was my life, I honestly just can’t seem to part with them. I have all my Chuck Palahniuk and Kurt Vonnegut on the bottom shelf which is more what I’m into now. Then I have my yearbooks and a few movies on the right.

I also have an overabundance of makeup and I never really knew how to store it because I have so much so yeah, I just categorize it and stuff it into Sephora bags. Also, no I do not typically use that tiny mirror. I invested in a really nice square light up mirror with the two sides where the one side is close up- you know what I’m talking about. But yeah, that’s back at Rutgers.

Okay and the last picture. This has always been one of my favorite parts of my room. I just love how pretty this looks and I love how it’s right behind my bed. And I love the quote- it’s one that always resonated really well with me.

“Dream until your dream comes true.”

July Faves

July is over and we’re on to our final month of summer! For once in my life I’m actually excited for summer to end because I get to start college and I’m so beyond excited! But anyways, since it’s August I felt I should do a July faves post since I haven’t done a favorites post in awhile. I would like to apologize in advance that I have not been able to get my camera to focus so these pictures are either blurry, taken from my iPhone, or taken from the internet. Sorry for that! I have a Canon Rebel.. T3i I believe? If anyone knows what the problem could be please let me know!

Okay, let’s begin with my favorite beauty products. Since it’s summer I, like most people, have been going for a more natural look. Instead of wearing winged eyeliner, or eyeliner at all, I only use eyeshadow. Usually I’ll use the shade darkhorse from my naked palette and line my upper and lower lash line. As my eyeshadow base, I use a NYX jumbo eye pencil in the color yogurt. I find the smudged eyeshadow look to not only be more natural, but a lot easier to accomplish. It doesn’t have to be as precise as a liquid or gel liner which saves a ton of time. Of course, I finish this look off with mascara.

Recently, I purchased a beauty blender. I honestly have no idea how I’ve gone so long without one of these things. This makes applying foundation and concealer 10000x easier and I’ve never found something that blends makeup into my skin so well. For those of you who don’t know what a beauty blender is, it’s an egg shaped sponge that is used instead of a makeup brush to blend in your makeup. I bought mine at Sephora for $18, but you can find cheaper alternatives at your local drugstore.

When I bought this beauty blender, I also bought a few Sephora face masks. I bought two face masks and an eye mask. For the face masks, I bought Pearl and Green Tea. I felt these would be a good idea since I’ve been having a lot of problems with breakouts recently. I’m not going to lie, they haven’t helped with breakouts, but they do make my skin feel smooth and refreshed. This isn’t an amazing product, but it’s nice for relaxation. I also bought the pearl eye mask which also didn’t really give any results, but still just gives a pleasant feeling.

Like I said, I’ve been dealing with bad breakouts. Not only on my face, but on my body as well. I swear by Neutrogena Body Clear body wash to get rid of body acne. Warning: it really dries out your skin so make sure to either apply a thick body cream afterwards, or use this maybe every other day or only a few times a week.

Okay, onto fashion!

I’m really lazy in the summer and never feel like getting dressed. Finding shirts and pants that match is too much effort. That’s why in the summer, I live in rompers!

This romper I especially love because it looks like a top tucked into high waisted shorts, but it’s really just one piece! I bought this from Joyce Leslies, but other great places to buy inexpensive rompers include Forever 21 and Rue 21. I especially have a hard time finding rompers that fit me because I’m very petite and the shorts always end up being too long on me, but Rue 21 I believe has the best rompers for short people, so all fellow short girls, check it out!

One of the biggest trends right now thanks to fashion icons like Vanessa Hudgens and big music festivals like Coachella, is the boho style.

Okay, movies and television shows.

If you haven’t watched OITNB yet, what are you doing with your life. Seriously. Ruby Rose is SO hot and this season was utter chaos. Get on that.

Under the Dome finally came back and I’m so happy because I’ve missed it so much! I was so painfully addicted last season. This season has been weak so far, but Alexander Koch is so hot that I just don’t care.

As for movies, this month I’ve seen The Gallows, Inside Out, and Jurassic World and all three were amazing!

Let’s start with The Gallows- so I’ve heard mixed reviews about this movie. I’ve heard it was stupid and not at all scary, and then I’ve also heard it was terrifying. I don’t think it was either. I wasn’t scared out of my mind watching this movie, but it definitely did keep me on the edge of my seat. I thought it had a unique plot compared to other scary movies and I genuinely liked it. Scary movies these days are pretty lame, and it’s one of the few I would actually watch again. Plus, it’s a great date night movie! I’d give it 4 stars!

Inside Out was SO SO SO CUTE! I loved everything about it. 5 stars!

I feel like everyone has had to have seen Jurassic World at this point. If you haven’t, yes it is as awesome as everyone says it is and yes you need to go see it. Plus, Chris Pratt is a total babe. I’ll give it 4.5 stars.

As for books, I’ve read two books this month (yes I have a lot of free time lately). The first book was Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk and this book, my God this book. Easily one of the best books I’ve ever read… although I feel like I say that about every book I read. If you’ve never heard of this book, I’ll give you a brief overview.

Basically, it’s a group of people trapped in a house on a writers retreat where they are supposed to work on writing a story. The book goes from being a chapter of what’s going on inside the house, to being a poem about one of the characters, to being a short story based on that character. The story is so twisted and creepy. I highly recommend this book.

The second book I read is Looking for Alaska. Another phenomenal book! I wanted to see what all the John Green hype was about and Fault in Our Stars didn’t seem like something I’d be that interested in, but I’ve heard Looking for Alaska is another great one he has written. I really hope they make this book into a movie as well. Personally, I feel like I could identify with all the characters in one way or another and I really loved that. Finally, I get the John Green hype.

As for my music obsessions, I’m gonna keep this short. I’ve recently rediscovered my love for the Veronicas, a group consisting of two Australian sisters. Their newest album came out quite some time ago, but I just found it. My favorite from the newest album, The Veronicas, is “You Ruin Me.”

I’ve also been really into the Naked and Famous. I’ve been especially obsessed with the song “The Mess.” I like songs that I feel relate to my life at the moment, and this is one of them.

Alright, one more random favorite. I doubt anyone cares, but I love it so much that I had to throw it in here. White cheddar popcorn. OMG! It’s heaven.

Oh wait and another great snack- White Chocolate Macadamia Luna Bars. SOOOOO GOOD!

Okay, that’s it! Hope you enjoyed!

My Not So Strange Addiction

The other day, my mom bought a really nice, brand new car. As nice as the car is, I didn’t understand why because she had just bought another brand new car just a year ago. Pretty much, she’s addicted to buying cars. So this got us talking to other things we’re addicted to buying. My mom likes to buy cars (which is way too expensive of a thing to be addicted to), my oldest brother is obsessed with superheroes and buys a ton of comic books (he’s 25 lol), and my other brother owns every movie in existence (which is super convenient for me).

I have an addiction with buying books. I don’t know why because I don’t even read that often. I try to read a lot, I would like to read more to be honest, but it’s hard because I just don’t really have time. Still, I always find myself browsing online looking for new books when I already have a list of about 20 unread books I’d like to read and another 10 I’d like to reread.

In case you were wondering, some of my favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut and Chuck Palahniuk. I recently read Haunted by Palahniuk and it’s gotta be the most twisted story I’ve ever read. None the less, one of the best.

Currently I’m reading Looking For Alaska by John Green. Despite my obsession with books, this is the only John Green book I own. None of his other stories really interest me, but I’ve heard lots of wonderful things about this book so I would like to see if it’s worth the hype.

I can’t stop buying self help books either. I’m really interested in the power of positive thinking and recently I’ve been buying a lot of books that discuss this. For example, I read a book by Miranda Kerr (my idol) called Treasure Yourself. She has another book that I now MUST buy. The next book in this genre I plan to read is called Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein. I’ve heard great reviews on this book and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

Alright, so as big as my obsession is with buying regular books, I have an even BIGGER obsession with buying notebooks. I can’t help it! I literally own twenty three notebooks (not including ones for school), but I only use about five of them. I can’t help it, they’re just so pretty! If you keep up with my blog, then you know I went to Disney world recently. The only souvenir I bought for myself while I was there is a cute little Mickey Mouse notebook. So since I have so many notebooks and I don’t feel the need to write in all of them and instead just stare at them, I’m very selective in the ones I choose to write in. I decided to start writing in my newest, Mickey Mouse notebook because the cover and the pages are just all so pretty! The notebook has a cute, vintage-y feel and I love it! But now whenever I try to write in it, a bunch of pages fall out! I’m beyond disappointed.

Anyways, what are you addicted to buying? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

April Favorites

April is coming to an end.. so you know what that means!

download (3)

Haha sorry! Couldn’t miss out on my one chance a year to use that meme! Anyways, I’ve never done a monthly favorites blog post before, so I figured today would be a good day to do my first! Here are my favorites for April.

  • This month I have really been obsessed with winged eyeliner. I know that this trend isn’t anything new, but for me it kind of is. I never was really into it, but I bought NYX’s Super Skinny Marker which makes it much easier to create a perfect wing. I’ve already gone through two of these markers! If you’re interested in purchasing any of the products mentioned, I will link them all below.
  • BB Cream is something else I’ve been obsessed with.. actually for quite awhile now. I don’t like wearing foundation because I find it to be too heavy and personally, I don’t think I need that much coverage. I used to use Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer, but decided to look for a cheaper alternative. Maybelline’s BB Cream is absolutely great! I buy the one with the blue cap because it has salicylic acid in it to help fight against pimples. I know a lot of people prefer wearing lighter foundations in the spring/summer, and this is one I’d definitely recommend.
  • One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to tan! I love lying out in my backyard and soaking up the sun. I use Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil. I don’t recommend this for people who burn easier. Remember to be safe and use this sparingly!
  • My breakouts lately have been unreal. Every night I use Clearasil Daily Clear Hydra-Blast pads. I use one pad and run it over my breakouts and it’s actually fairly effective. Now it doesn’t work overnight, you definitely have to keep up with it. But it does help to dry out pimples.
  • Organix has become my new favorite shampoo/conditioner. There are many different types to suit all different hair textures. Currently, I’m using.the Weightless Hydration Coconut Water and not only does it really work to add moisture to my hair after being in the sun all day, but it smells amazing!

  • Okay, so the other day I got home from school and went up to my bedroom to see these adorable Dogue socks lying on my bed. I asked my mom why she gave them to me and she replied “you mean they aren’t yours?” I was disappointed. I was hoping she had bought them for me or something because she had secretly known my love for Dogue. It turns out, the socks belong to my brother. But he ended up not wanting them anymore and said I could have them! Aren’t they adorable?!

  • It’s spring time which means it’s time to break out the floral dresses! Here is one of my favorites that I bought from Plato’s Closet, but you can find dresses like this almost anywhere!

  • Life update: I have recently committed to Rutgers University!!!! I went recently to an admitted students day event and bought a ton of Rutgers apparel! Here is a super cute sweatshirt I’ve been wearing all the time!295
  • Oxfords have got to be my favorite type of shoe. I love the vintage-y vibe they give off. I own three pairs- one black, one tan, and one black with cats on them. I’ve been wearing my black ones the most lately because they seem to match the best with my outfits. I love pairing them with circle skirts, pencil skirts, and jeans! They add a nice, polished vibe to a casual outfit. A great place to purchase oxfords would be Urban Outfitters.

  • I definitely use Netflix to my advantage and have been watching some of my favorite sitcoms such as The Office and Friends. These are both shows I’ve seen before, but now I’m able to maximize my obsession and watch every episode ever– about eight times.
  • Game of Thrones– I’m definitely late on this boat and I’m still on season one, but I’ve been really into it. It’s a bit more graphic than any other shows I watch, but it’s just so crazy that I can’t stop watching!
  • I used to be really obsessed with a Canadian show called Degrassi. If you’re a teenager reading this, I’m sure you’ve heard of it before. It’s a fairly popular show. Now I think we can all agree it’s not nearly as good as it used to be. It’s kind of all over the place, all the characters have dated each other, and every possible story line has already been done. So, I stopped watching. Recently a new Canadian show. Open Heart, was created with some people who are/have been on Degrassi and includes the same writers so I decided to give it a try since Degrassi used to be good and I have to say, I’m quite impressed! It’s a lot different from Degrassi since it’s got a solid story line that will have a start and finish. It’s about a girl trying to find her missing father. I’m completely hooked!
  • Spoiled is a cute story written by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. It’s about a girl named Molly who’s mother dies and she is forced to move to Hollywood to live with her movie star father and evil half sister, Brooke Berlin. It’s a cute book that’s a short, easy read. It’s followed by another book called Messy which is in the point-of-view of Molly’s best friend, Max, whom is trying to save up enough money for a summer writing class at NYU and takes a job from Brooke requiring her to pretend to be her and create blog posts that make her seem witty and intellectual- that will hopefully get her to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a successful actress. Okay, so I did a bad job describing the plot of these stories, but basically if your looking for an easy read, these books are it.

  • QUAD is an app that allows you to join group chats with random people based on specific interests. I downloaded it to try and meet people from Rutgers that I will be going to school with next year, but you can also join chats that have themes like The Office or ones as random as Smoothie Recipes. It’s a great way to meet people and to discuss things you take an interest in! The chats hold up to 500 people and you can mute them if they’re becoming too rowdy.
  • Timehop is another thing I’m late on. I was never able to use it because I’ve had my Facebook deactivated for so long, but I recently reactivated and created a Timehop. It’s pretty funny to see things I posted five years ago.. but it’s also extremely cringeworthy.
  • I LOVE yoga and I especially love being able to do it in the comfort of my own home. Bad Yogi is something I discovered a little while ago and I love it. It’s a website and a YouTube channel run by Erin Motz who has got to be the best online yoga instructor ever. Here’s a link to the website! I highly recommend checking it out.

What Makes A “Bad Yogi”?

Presents From Santa 2014

Christmas was a success this year! I got some wonderful presents that’ll keep me busy during my winter break. Check it out!

One of my good friends bought me this cup that says “Cheers Bitches.” I honestly think it’s the cutest thing.

I also received these two mugs that I think are both very pretty. In case you can’t read it, the one with the fox says “you make the world a better place just by being in it” and the one with the whale says “you are so loved.” Nothing like starting off your day with a cup of tea and positive quote!

Next I got this little pretty dress. It’s a one size fits all.. isn’t that weird? I’m very petite so I thought if anything it’d be too big, but I was sure wrong! It fits okay, but it’s a little bit too short. I don’t know if I could get away with wearing this without tights.

I’ve wanted this book for as long as I can remember. I’m not going to lie, so far I’m quite disappointed. I am a strong believer in astrology and all of that stuff, but this book hasn’t seemed to be too accurate so far. Anyone else have this book? What do you think of it?

Miranda Kerr is my role model. I think she’s so inspirational and so beautiful inside and out. I’m looking forward to reading this book. Let me know if you’d like to hear a book review on this book or any of the ones mentioned! I’ll probably write a few either way haha.

Okay so I’m really into spirituality and self-help books. I personally feel it’s important to be in touch with your inner emotions and to keep yourself centered. Books like these definitely help me succeed in doing that (along with meditating twice a day).

I’m a big Jenna Ushkowitz and Glee fan. I’ve heard great reviews on this book so I’m really excited to read it.

I’m graduating soon which means I need to start thinking about my future. I definitely want to work in the fashion industry and so hopefully this book can give me some tips and tricks to do that.

Alright, now let’s look at actual books. Haunted is a novel, but is made up of 23 short stories. I actually don’t know much about it other than that, but I’m very excited to read something by Chuck Palahniuk.

Okay, okay I know I’m a bit too old to be reading The Clique series, but hear me out. I was obsessed with this series from 6th-8th grade, but I never finished the last book. I’ve made it a mission to finish this book. And I can’t really lie, the series is such a quick and easy read that I still enjoy them. I’ll probably have this book read within the next day or two.

I haven’t had much of an interest in John Green. Fault in Our Stars doesn’t seem like my kind of book, but I’ve heard great reviews on Looking For Alaska and it sounds pretty interesting so I decided to give it a try.

Elsewhere is a book by Gabrielle Zevin about a girl who dies in a hit and run accident. The book, from my understanding, is about her after life.

I’m not just now jumping onto The Perks of Being a Wallflower train. I read the book a few years ago and honestly, it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. This is one of those books that I genuinely believe is worth the hype. Not only that, but the movie is great too! Of course the book is better (as always) but the movie still did the book justice. Which is why, for Christmas, I asked for my own copy of the book and the movie. I can’t wait to reread it.

This book really caught my eye. It’s about a mother and daughter who do not, I assume, have much time to see each other. What they do to keep in contact is write notes and put them on the refrigerator door for the other to see. The entire book is written in these little notes that they write. It’s honestly so unique that I just have to read it.

Best. Diary. Ever.

Titanic is my favorite movie of all time. Always has been, always will be. The thing is, my brother literally owns every movie known to man; therefore, I never really bothered to purchase movies in the past because I would always just borrow his. But now we’re getting older and we’re both moving out next year so i can’t rely on borrowing his movies anymore. Now I finally own my own copy of Titanic so now I can stop stealing his.

Like I said, we’re both moving out soon and I don’t have that many movies. I figured if I’m leaving home I at least need to own a few of my favorites.

I watch Moulin Rouge! like once a week. It’s about time I have my own copy.

Well, I’m a sucker for musicals. Rent is a classic.

That’s basically everything I got for Christmas!! I love everything I got and I’m so excited to spend the next week watching movies and reading books. Once again, let me know if you would like me to write a review on any of these books (or even movies!)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!! xoxo
