November Faves

I’m a few days late with this post, but I’m back with my November faves! Now that it’s officially freezing out, I’ve added in some of my faves for the colder months. Here are my recommendations and November favorites!

Bondi Sands Tanning Foam Ultra DarkBondi Sands Tanning Foam Ultra Dark– I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll mention it again. This is by far the best tanning product I have ever used! It is the perfect shade and streak free. It’s perfect for the winter when you need a little color!

Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil– I haven’t experimented enough with coconut oil to know if one brand is better than another, but I do know this stuff is great. Coconut oil has a variety of different health benefits and can be used for many different purposes. Personally, I love using this once a week to deep condition my hair. My hair gets quite dry and brittle and this really livens it up!

PYT Ceramic Styling Tool– After going through countless amounts of straightening irons, I decided to invest in a good one. I’ve had this straightening iron for about 3 or 4 years now and it hasn’t let me down. It takes about 10 minutes with this iron to make my waves sleek and straight

Grace Antioxidant Organic Facial Toner– I wanted to bring my skin care routine up a notch and decided to buy this product because I heard an antioxidant toner is great for your skin. Although I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my skin, I do find the spray very refreshing and it also works as a nice setting spray! I have been having issues with dry skin and while it does not help much, it is temporarily relieving. Not to mention it’s organic and not to harsh on the skin, plus a reasonable price!

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara– This mascara is a fave of mine and beats any high end mascara I’ve ever used. This mascara really lengthens  your lashes and overall is a must have considering its price.

Hoodies– Hoodies are a staple when the weather begins to get colder. I’ve been obsessed with buying hoodies lately because they’re so comfortable and cute and come in so many styles and cuts. I linked one of my favorite new hoodies I bought recently from Lulu’s.

Jeans– Like hoodies, jeans are a staple. They help polish any outfit. Jeans with a cute sweater is a perfect look for when the weather is cold. It’s comfortable, but still cute. And just like hoodies, jeans come in various styles. Colored jeans, boyfriend jeans, ripped jeans, etc can all bring a complete different look. Jeans are so versatile and a closet staple. My favorite place to buy jeans is PacSun.

Workout leggings– As someone who goes from the gym, to class, cute workout leggings are a must. Victoria’s Secret and Nike have some of my favorite athletic leggings, but you can also find cute workout leggings for less at stores like Forever 21.

Riding boots– Riding boots are another step in my winter closet. I wear riding boots constantly. Invest in one black pair and nice brown pair and you’re set for all outfits! Charlotte Russe is a great place to buy shoes.

Booties– Booties are cute and look great with any outfit. I like to switch out my riding boots sometimes for my booties just because they add a different look.

Rings– I love accessorizing with funky rings. I think they just add a more stylish element to a simple outfit and overall just look super cute!

David Dobrik– I’ve been really into watching David Dobrik’s vlogs lately. They’re just so entertaining and honestly slightly addicting. They make me wish I had a friend group that exciting!

Animal’s People– I recently read the book Animal’s People for a class I take in school, and this was one of the few books I’ve ever read for a class that I actually enjoyed. It was a fun read and really eye-opening. I highly recommend it.

Shameless– I’ve been hooked on Shameless since I started watching my freshman year of high school. The new season has begun and I couldn’t be happier. Shameless is on Netflix now so if you haven’t watched it yet, there is no excuse.

September Faves

I’m so excited that October is here because it might just be my favorite month in the year. Sweater weather and halloween makes for a perfect combination. September was a pretty exciting month because I started a new school year and all of my new classes. The year has been a bit stressful so far, but I’m hoping the next eight months lighten up a bit.

Here are my September faves!

Tarte Tape Shape Concealer– One of my new favorite concealers has got to be the Tape Shape. It’s full coverage, but also so easy to apply without any mess.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector– I’ve recently been really into color correcting and this one has to be my favorite. It is perfect to add before my concealer because it brightens up the under eye so much.

Ben Nye Pink Powder– I love using the pink powder to bake under my eyes. It makes my under eyes feel so smooth and it keeps my concealer in place all day!

NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette– This has been my go to palette for contouring. There is a variety of bronze shades plus a banana powder that is perfect for setting the under eyes!

Body suits and high waisted shorts– Now that I’m back in college, I’ve been going out a lot more. The weather was still pretty hot this month so my go-to going out look had to be a body suit tucked into high waisted shorts.

Sandals– Cute and comfortable sandals are perfect for warm weather and look cute with any outfit.

Chunky rings– I love accessorizing with chunky rings. I think it honestly takes a simple everyday look into something a bit edgier.

The Naked and the Famous– I’ve been loving listening to Naked and the Famous while I’m at the gym. The songs are just so upbeat and fun and get me in such a good mood!

GroupMe– GroupMe is a must have app for college students. It’s the perfect app for group chats in case anyone doesn’t have an iPhone. I honestly probably use GroupMe more than I actually text.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle– I just recently saw Kingsman and I loved it! I was obsessed with the first one so of course I had to see the second. Eggsy is just so stinkin’ cute. The only thing is he belonged with Roxy! Did anyone else feel like this too? I don’t want to post any spoilers, but let me know if you’d like me to leave a review 🙂

Mixed berries– I’ve been eating mixed berries every morning as a little side breakfast dish to make sure I am getting my daily intake of fruit. I’ve been loving mixing raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries!

Breakfast sandwiches– I love breakfast sandwiches. I toast a bagel every morning, usually either an everything bagel or a poppyseed bagel, and I add a scrambled egg and bacon and a little bit of cream cheese. It’s my fave.

July Faves

July is over, I am no longer a teenager, and I have a month left of summer. My favorites haven’t changed that much since June, but here’s a quick update.

  • Avon Speed Dry Nail Polish in the shade Just Peachy– This is a very old nail polish I have, but still one of my favorites. The speed dry formula really does dry within minutes, and the color lasts just over a week without chipping. Not to mention this shade is such a pretty orange that is subtle, but perfect for summer. Unfortunately, this nail polish is so old that Avon doesn’t even make it any more. Still, I managed to find some sellers on Ebay is you’re interested in finding a summer nail polish that will dry faster and last longer.
  • Conair Infiniti Curling Wand Styler– I have been curling my hair quite a lot this summer because I find it looks best with my new ombre color. Also, I love to curl my hair on days I don’t wash because it makes my hair look a little more put together and the curls last even longer. Conner makes excellent curling wands for good prices if you are looking to buy one!
  • Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in the shade Tiki– I’ve been writing about this product all summer, but I really have been using it daily. I use it as everything which makes my makeup routine way quicker and so simple. I can have my makeup done in 10 minutes or less. I apply my regular foundation and concealer, and use Tiki as my eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, and highlight. Then I just throw on a little bit of mascara, and my summer look is complete!

  • Aerie bikinis- Aerie is one of my all time favorite places to buy bikinis. I find they have the biggest selection that caters to all different body types.
  • Pretty sandals– Sandals are a summer staple. I love to wear sandals with pretty detailing that makes my outfit pop just a little bit more.
  • Stacks of bracelets– Lately I’ve been really into wearing all of my stacks of bracelets. Some of my favorite places to buy these trendy bracelets are Alex and Ani, Helberg Diamonds, and Kohls!
  • Layered necklaces– This has been a huge trend for the summer and I’m lovin’ it. I used to love chokers in the fall, but I feel this trend is much girlier and cute for summer.
  • Cross body bags- I always carry a cross body bag with me because it is by far the most convenient. They are the perfect size, stylish, and won’t kill your shoulders.

  • The Beginner’s Guide to Zen Buddhism by Jean Smith– This book is great if you have any sort of interested in living a zen lifestyle. You’ll learn how to properly meditate and receive many different tips and tricks to find comfort in stillness. You’ll also learn about the Four Noble Truths, and much more that can get you started on your journey with spirituality.
  • Jenna Marbles– In the summer, I’m always spending my free time watching random YouTube videos. Jenna Marbles is definitely my favorite YouTuber because her content is so original and hilarious, and seems to only get better. I can spend hours watching her videos.
  • Safiya Nygaard- I’ve recently discovered Safiya and I find her videos not only entertaining, but also informative. She posts many videos trying out different products that I have found myself interested in buying. She’ll confirm whether the product is worth the price and the hype, or not.

  • Dark chocolate– I have such a sweet tooth and am always looking to indulge in some chocolate. I am a strong believer that chocolate can be healthy as long as it is eaten in moderation. Chocolate has endorphins that can bring happiness, and dark chocolate can even be good for the heart. Just make sure the brands you are eating are high in Cacao and not processed with alkali.
  • Bobs Red Mill Whole Grain Granola, Apple Cinnamon– I’ve never really loved granola that much, but this is by far the best I’ve had. It is perfect to add to a fruit and yogurt parfait, or to add a little something to an acai bowl. I highly recommend this brand and this flavor.

OOTD- Summer Concert!

Recently, I was able to attend Radio 104.5’s Birthday Show and it was awesome! I wrote about Day 2 last week here, and I have to say, I really had a great time. The weather was beautiful- hot and sunny during the day, and cool and breezy at night.

I wore a simple outfit of just a black bralette bought at Forever 21 and black high waisted shorts that are the brand Mystic. I didn’t want to accessorize too much in fear of losing something, but I did wear a simple, silver ring. Also (not pictured) I wore some knock off all black vans because I knew I would be in grass all day and I didn’t want to get any of my nice shoes muddy.

I actually did my makeup for the first time all summer, which I picked a very awful day to do this since I melted within the first hour. Still, I thought the orange and pink eyeshadows looked perfect for summer and the winged eyeliner really pulled together the look.

Overall, the look wasn’t anything crazy, but comfortable and cute for a day spent in the sun listening to all my favorite bands.

5 Beauty Tricks I Live By

Happy Thursday!! Not too long ago I wrote a post called 5 Beauty Tips I Live By. I told you all about great remedies and health tips to keep your skin glowing! This week I wanted to talk more about makeup technique. Here are 5 beauty TRICKS I live by!

Beauty Trick #1: Apply concealer in triangles under your eyes

I seriously suffer from dark circles. Always have and probably always will. Something I discovered a few years ago, even before this whole contouring sensation blew up, was to draw triangles underneath of my eyes with concealer. This brightens up the entire face and is really effective in covering darkness underneath the eyes.

Beauty Trick #2: Wet eye shadow brushes

Before applying eye shadow, dampen your eye shadow brushes. A wet eye shadow brush makes the colors appear much more vibrant on your skin.

Beauty Trick #3: Exfoliate lips with a toothbrush

I do this each morning before applying lip colors, and each night before applying vaseline. The bristles of the toothbrush clean away dead skin and make your lips very smooth and ready for lipstick. Just make sure to not scrub too hard!

Beauty Trick #4: Apply two different mascaras

So I’m not the biggest fan of falsies. They irritate me. Also, I don’t feel they’re necessary for daily use. Instead of using falsies, I layer my mascaras. Currently, I use Benefit Roller Lash along with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara!

Beauty Trick #5: Prime face with color corrector

Before applying my foundation, I apply a green primer to cancel out the redness. This creates a smooth, and even base for my foundation. I use Correcting Primer- Redness Reducer in green by PUR. Of course there are many different shades suitable for different skin types.

I hope this post gave you some new ideas and tricks to try! What beauty tricks do you live by?

What Santa Brought Me This Year

Hey everyone! As you all know, I’ve been away at college for the past few months and I’ve only been home for four days now. Since I’m away at college, I’ve been super busy and I figured I’m too old for Santa to be bringin’ me presents.

BUT I’m fortunate to be lucky enough to have gotten a few presents under the tree.

First off is this gorgeous yellow raincoat from New York & Company. It’s a must have for college because walking around campus in the rain is so not fun.

Along with the rain coat is a pair of black rain boots. I’ve always hated rainbows, but rainbows are so important to have in college because walking in the rain in your nice shoes will ruin them! Plus, I actually do like these ones. They’re a nice classic black that will match any outfit and they really just look like standard tall black boots.

A friend from work gave me this book, Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. He is one of my all time favorite authors and I’ve heard amazing reviews about this book. I can’t wait to read it!

My brother gave me this pretty purple fountain. I’m not exactly sure where I’ll put it, but it’s so pretty and purple is my favorite color (I sound like a 5 year old).

I told my mom I needed slippers and she bought me a super comfortable, high quality pair from Bearpaw. I’ve always been a huge fan of this brand because it’s literally the same quality as Ugg, but much cheaper!

My mom also bought me a cheaper pair of slippers. This pair is not as high quality, but is equally as cute and comfortable. I love the knit look!

Sorry it’s so hard to see in this picture, but this is basically just a winter hat with matching fingerless gloves- more must-haves for college! The fingerless gloves make it easier to text (priorities)

My stocking stuffers include lip balm and lotion, and Nars Laguna Bronzer (aka my holy grail)

One of my favorite movies of 2015 definitely had to be Kingsman- and now I own it! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Basically, it’s a James Bond movie for a younger audience (but not that young because it’s still rated R!) Also, the main character is a hot British boy so why wouldn’t you wanna watch it?

My final, and most expensive, present was a Tablet. I didn’t even ask for one, but I’m pretty hype to have gotten it. I could use this in college to take notes and to buy my textbooks instead of having to carry around my laptop and heavy books.

That’s all I got for Christmas and I have to say, I think I did pretty well! What was your favorite thing you got? Lemme know in the comments!

Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday! xo

Naked 2 Palette Review!

Hey everyone! I’m back with a review on the Naked 2 Palette! If you are interested in purchasing the Naked 2 palette, beware, it’s incredible!

I decided to invest in the Naked 2 palette considering the fact I would use my Naked palette every day. I debated it though because the palette is $50. I didn’t want to throw my money away on a palette that was going to be just like the Naked! I didn’t though. The Naked 2 is a lot different from the Naked, although both do have similarities. Both contain all neutral shades; some matte, some shimmery, and some glittery! Just like the Naked, the shades are very versatile which I love, and they are also pigmented and don’t budge! I can honestly wipe my finger across my lid and the shadow stays in place. How great is that?

The only shade Naked and Naked 2 both consist of is the golden shade called Half- Baked. This is great for me though because that is probably the color I have been using most often so I could use more of it! Both palettes are so flexible and you can build the intensity up for a night out, or keep it subtle for a day at work. It’s wonderful.

As much as I love the Naked, I think I could possibly love the Naked 2 more. This is because of the fact that the shades suit my cooler skin tone better. The Naked features many bronze shades while the Naked 2 consists more of taupe shades, grays, and beiges. Of course if you have a warmer skin tone, the Naked may be a better fit for you. However, this isn’t the only reason I prefer the Naked 2. The Naked palette’s packaging is cute and neat at first, but the velvet gets dirty so quickly and is hard to look clean! My palette does look a little beat up and dirty and I really don’t like that. The Naked 2 is in a tin case that looks classy and pretty and I adore it. This packaging is much, much better!

The first shade in this palette is Foxy which is a matte, off white kind of shade. Next to this is Half Baked, also in the Naked palette, and this is a shimmery gold. Bootycall is a shimmery shade just a little bit whiter and brighter than Foxy. Chopper is a glittery copper shade. Tease is a very pale brown with a matte finish. Snakebite is a metallic bronze. Suspect is a paler golden shade with a shimmery finish. Pistol is a shimmery gray. Verve is a shimmery silver. YDK is a metallic shade similar to Tease. Busted is a dark, shimmery brown. And finally, Blackout is a matte black.

My favorite shades and the one’s I find myself reaching for most in this palette are Half Baked, Snakebite, and Blackout. Blackout is an exceptionally useful shade and is one that I wish was included in the Naked palette. You can’t go wrong with a matte black.

Also included in this palette is the Good Karma Shadow/ Crease brush and the Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked which is a pinkish neutral shade. I absolutely love the brush because it’s double sided so it lowers down the amount of brushes I need to travel with. Not to mention the brush works fantastic. The lipgloss I love as well because it’s a neutral shade that smells fabulous and looks stunning.

This palette is honestly just so incredible and if it’s something you have been looking into buying but wasn’t sure if it was worth it, believe me, it’s worth it. If you’re a makeup lover, I can guarantee you’ll find yourself reaching for this palette way too often. The Naked 2 is definitely worth its a bit pricey price. I recommend it!
